Socks (a monkey) thought that it&#8217;d be fun to show off some of the stories that compel me to weep for the human race instead. He was right, of course.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedesertsun.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=200770507026\" target=\"_blank\">This story<\/a> captures it all; homeland security, inept newsroom staff, a cranky old man, and coupons!<\/li>\n<li>Belgian Opel workers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freep.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=\/20070509\/BUSINESS01\/70509004\/1014\" target=\"_blank\">wonder<\/a> whether it&#8217;s a good idea to continue a strike after GM has already decided to shutter their plant.<\/li>\n<li>Dump the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Use-Apostrophes\" target=\"_blank\">greengrocer&#8217;s apostrophe<\/a>,&#8221; won&#8217;t you?<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ll suggest Disney&#8217;s next teevee project: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hangboard.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">America&#8217;s Funniest Citizen Sterilization Videos<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As for Sharpton&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2007\/05\/10\/us\/politics\/10romney.html\" target=\"_blank\">Romney comment<\/a>, look dude, his imaginary friend is no more imaginary than your imaginary friend. So, um, knock it the hell off. We can talk about that cat&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/globe\/ideas\/brainiac\/2007\/05\/romney_and_batt.html\" target=\"_blank\">affinity for Scientology<\/a> all you want, but the religion thing?
