Because they&#8217;ve just come out with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/news\/local\/la-me-outthere24-2008oct24,0,7661981.story\" target=\"_blank\">yet another story<\/a> about how my little town of Idyllwild is set to burn to the ground.<\/p>\n<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/news\/local\/la-me-outthere24-2008oct24,0,7661981.story\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 175px;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/media\/photo\/2008-10\/43031757.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Tahquitz Peak stands over Idyllwild as Josh Whitney, owner of Pacific Slope Tree Cooperative, clears trees and brush from a home complying with the town's fire abatement order. (Robert Gauthier \/ Los Angeles Times)\" \/><\/a><br \/>A little like the story <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/2007\/jul\/30\/local\/me-evac30\" target=\"_blank\">they did in 2007<\/a> about how we couldn&#8217;t plan for evacuation routes without some contention. Or perhaps the big <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.latimes.com\/2006\/jul\/11\/local\/me-idyllwild11\" target=\"_blank\">David Kelly piece<\/a> in 2006 about how it was a miracle that we&#8217;re even alive.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m just thankful that we don&#8217;t have a slow economy to deal with, otherwise we&#8217;d have a hard time dealing with the negative publicity&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; bob<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Friends, I suspect somebody at the L.A.
